Appreciate Basic Freedoms and Those who Protect Us

Every day the United States military, fire service and law enforcement work to prevent crime, keep communities safe and protect citizen rights. These careers are oftentimes physically demanding, stressful and dangerous. For this reason, it is critically important that these brave men and women stay fit to protect our nation. Nobody understands this more than Kenneth H. Cooper, MD, MPH, Founder of The Cooper Institute.

During Dr. Cooper’s 13 years of service in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force, he developed the 12-minute and 1.5-mile fitness tests and the Aerobics Point System. Now, 45 years later, branches of the military, schools and organizations worldwide continue to use these “Cooper tests” to measure the fitness levels of all ages and genders.

The Cooper Institute is deep-rooted in military fitness and provides training to fire service, law enforcement and first responders of all kinds. Thank you, first responders, for staying strong and keeping our nation strong!
