Youth Program Leaders to Speak at National Physical Education Institute

Don Disney and Dr. Marilu Meredith join national PE & Health Experts to discuss obesity prevention.

DALLAS (July 30, 2012) –  Don Disney, Director of Youth Initiatives and Dr. Marilu Meredith, Director, Perot International Youth Data Center, will be presenting at the National Physical Education Institute to be held in Asheville, North Carolina from July 30 – August 3, 2012.  During this event, hundreds of participants will focus on how our country’s public schools can more effectively use their resources to foster new strategies for implementing stronger fitness, health, and obesity prevention programs for K-12 children and youth. Disney’s presentation Start the Nutrition Conversation will focus on youth nutrition. Meredith will speak on the new web-based version of the FITNESSGRAM® assessment tool.
