Associate Director of Youth Programs

Description: Summary:  This position will manage the Healthy Zone School (HZS) Program, NFL Play 60 FITNESSGRAM Project, and any additional programs that are initiated,
and work secondarily on other Youth Education projects as directed by the Director of Youth Operations and Research.  Responsibilities will include school
health and wellness programming communication with multiple audiences, managing of program staff, and program sustainability and scalability planning.  
The position will also manage, timelines, record keeping and partnership relations.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  Program Oversight and Evolution:
•    Oversee annual program updates and changes, and make necessary adjustments to programs each year.
•    Lead HZS and NFL Play 60 FITNESSGRAM Project school selection process, including changes to process.
•    Lead planning and logistics for all youth program training events.
•    Work with CI Leadership and UWMD representatives to develop opportunities for expansion.
•    Ensure that programs are grant compliant.  This includes project timelines, program structure and sticking to the budget.
•    Partner with UWMD and internal MarCom to assist with the development of program marketing materials.
•    Work with leadership team and potential external partners to evaluate, develop, and implement potential new youth programs.

 Relationship Management:
•    Maintain and develop appropriate relationships with UWMD and NFL representatives, schools, and other partners.
•    Provide support and training for teachers and other contacts.

 Program Representation:
•    Present program information at various meetings/conferences, and represent programs at various special events.

 Program Staff Leadership:
•    Manage and delegate responsibilities to program staff.
•    Model professional development for staff by attend training, conferences, and workshops to
      develop skills, enhance knowledge, promote physical fitness, and network.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
•    Master's degree (M.S., MPH, M.Ed.) or equivalent in public health or related field.
•    Three or more years’ experience executing public health programming or   equivalent.
•    Experience working with diverse populations.

Computer Skills, Licenses and/or Certifications:
•    Must have working knowledge of word processing, database management, and graphic presentation software
      using Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
•    Experience with a CRM, such as SalesForce, is preferred.
•    Experience with FG is preferred.

Special Position Requirements:

Skills, Abilities and Knowledge:
•    Ability to write reports and draft business correspondence.
•    Must demonstrate excellent customer service skills by phone and in person.
•    Effective presentation skills to both small and large groups.

     including setting performance standards and monitoring performance..
•    Ability to organize work and set priorities is critical.

•    Must have demonstrated experience as a problem solver.
•    Must be able to work at a strategic level and implement on a tactical level.
•    Must remain calm during stressful situations.
•    Exhibit a positive attitude.


Physical Demands:
•    The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
