Founded in 1970 by the "Father of Aerobics"
Kenneth H. Cooper MD, MPH

1917 - 2019

Orville Rogers is an American hero. The WWII bomber pilot and Korean War veteran picked up a copy of "Aerobics" by Dr. Kenneth Cooper in an airport bookstore when he was 50 years old. He read it cover to cover and started running right away. In his 90s, he started entering running competitions and went on to break 18 world records for his age group.

In 2018, we honored him with our Well. Hero Award. Orville was passionate about faith, family, fitness and finances, making smart decisions along the way that landed him on the cover of Money Magazine for his self-taught investment strategies. He saw himself as living proof that exercise is the best preventive medicine and joined our Meyer Society for Planned Giving. We are honored and humbled by his gift and his friendship. Orville was a beloved friend and we look forward to seeing him at the finish line!

Thank you to those who have shared your special stories and pictures of Orville Rogers.
