The Cooper Institute has made tremendous progress advancing the effort to curb disease and obesity worldwide. Using research findings, we have educated and empowered citizens around the world to make healthier choices and lead better lives. We know that prevention is key to good health. Now that Breast Cancer Awareness Month has come to a close and Diabetes Awareness Month has just begun, it is a great time to note that taking charge of your health is a year-round effort.

Today, we are armed with more cancer prevention knowledge and have better tools to stay healthy before, during and after cancer diagnosis. We also have a deeper understanding of diabetes and more resources than ever to fight, and prevent this debilitating condition. Fitness is certainly not a cure-all, but we have found that fitter individuals will age better with fewer chronic illnesses to impact their quality of life.

Looking ahead to the next 45 years, key focus areas for The Cooper Institute continue to be preventive medicine research, health and fitness education, and youth health programs. Stay tuned for…

  • An evidence-based lineup of 2016 health and fitness courses, open to the public.
  • Continued child health and fitness advocacy nationwide.
  • More “Healthy Zone” schools available for children to attend.

The future is bright. We look forward to continuing to improve population health so that people can lead better, longer lives now and Well. Into the Future.

To Your Health,
