The holiday season is a time for family, friends and giving – and we are so grateful to count you as a member of our family. As you consider your gifts at this time, we ask you to consider The Cooper Institute in your year-end giving plans.
Our children are facing a shorter life-span due to chronic conditions and obesity resulting from poor health and inactivity. This means trouble for our future workforce and our nation’s security as most young adults are not fit for military service. With partner programs like NFL Play 60 FitnessGram and Healthy Zone Schools, we are working to change that trajectory by building healthy habits so they can be ready for life as adults.
In 2018, we made great strides to improve the fitness and overall health of over 10 million students through the FitnessGram assessment, demonstrating the positive impact of physical education on their physical, emotional and academic health. But our work doesn’t stop there.
Our research on the impact of middle-age fitness made worldwide headlines this year, showing nearly half a billion people that it is never too late to improve your heart health and brain health. Our research team is focused on understanding all the ways fitness may prevent debilitating conditions like depression, dementia, Alzheimer’s disease, and memory loss as we age.
The Cooper Institute is a small but mighty force, helping to change the face of healthcare across the country through the power of research, education and advocacy. Our work depends on the generosity of our family and friends who understand the impact of healthy living.
Please read the latest Cooper Quarterly newsletter to learn more about our work and make your life-saving gift today.
