Weight Loss Study

 

Omega-3 and Exercise Study - ENROLLMENT CLOSED

This 6-month study examined the effects of omega-3 supplementation, in combination with exercise, on weight loss and body composition in men and women 30 to 60 years of age, who were overweight and not exercising regularly. Participants received nutritional counseling and completed food journals for review at each visit. Following training in cardiovascular and resistance exercise, they were required to perform cardiovascular exercise for 50 minutes, 3 times each week, plus light weight training 2-3 times each week. Each participant received a free 6-month membership to the Cooper Fitness Center, so that exercise could be performed on the Cooper Campus. Results of this recently completed study are currently being analyzed.
