The Cooper Institute in joint sponsorship with The American Heart Association is proud to bring you the Adult Obesity in Clinical Practice series of multi-component, enduring online training and education programs.

The purpose of the Weight Management Essentials educational activity is to provide health care professionals with introductory knowledge, skills, tools, and resources needed to work with overweight and obese patients on weight loss for the prevention of heart disease, stroke, some cancers and other chronic diseases.

This activity will provide continuing education opportunities to health care providers and will enable you to integrate weight loss screening and intervention strategies into your practice. You’ll also learn effective usage of weight management resources to help your patients make lasting changes. Tools and strategies for obesity screening and treatment are also included.

Assessments related to the learning content for all segments of the education are included in the instruction. Course participants' will be evaluated at the beginning and end of the instruction to assess pre and post knowledge and comprehension of the instructional content.

Participants are encouraged to visit a highly interactive website upon completion of the course to find additional relevant tools and resources and participate in discussions related to providing adult obesity screening and intervention in clinical practice.
