Health Conditions and Exercise
Expand Your Client Base: Learn about Health Conditions and Tailored Strategies
As the American population ages and rates of obesity and type 2 diabetes rise, health conditions are more prevalent - hypertension, dementia, arthritis, cardiovascular and peripheral arterial disease, low back problems, and stroke. Expand your client base by becoming more knowledgeable about exercise and nutrition guidelines for the millions of Americans with health conditions. Students who pass the written examination will receive a Cooper Institute Certificate.
Most fitness professionals lack the knowledge and experience necessary to develop safe and effective exercise programs for a variety of special populations. This course offers a unique opportunity for fitness professionals to learn more about these conditions while gaining valuable hands-on experience. Practical sessions addressing fall prevention, balance, chair and water exercise will add to your battery of exercise tools.
