Courses Functional Fitness Training (with FMS and Correctives)

Functional Movement ScreenIncludes Functional Movement Screening© and Corrective Strategies for Improving Functional Fitness

Functional fitness trains the body to better handle real-life situations including daily activities of bending, lifting, enhancing job performance, recreation, and/or sports performance goals. This 3-day course is PACKED with hands-on activity, practical sessions, and case studies.

The Cooper Institute has teamed up with Lee Burton, Ph.D. and Gray Cook, MSPT, of Functional Movement Systems, Inc., to bring you the latest information on functional fitness. Day one you will learn to administer the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) and associated corrective exercises. Days two and three use case studies to design functional fitness programs that will include corrective exercises, tools for flexibility, core strength, power and interval training.

After completing the hands-on training, FMS will send you an email providing access to the FMS Home Study course which includes, FMS philosophy, FMS screening procedures, downloadable FMS manual, and access to FMS Exam for completion. Also you will receive a one year membership to the FMS web site and a 60 day trial of the Pro 360 part of the web site that allows you to manage, screen, and communicate with clients, and create workouts.

At the end of Functional Fitness Training you have the opportunity to earn 2 certificates. There will be a curriculum based test offered at the end of the live course to earn a Functional Fitness Training certificate from The Cooper Institute. You can also earn the Functional Movement Screen (FMS) certificate by passing an online examination provided by Functional Movement Systems.
