Courses CPR - Heartsaver AED Training

Learn how to save a life. The Heartsaver AED course teaches you how to confidently respond to an emergency situation. You learn how to properly administer CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) and how to properly use an AED (automated external defibrillator) device. With a few hours of training, anyone can learn to perform CPR and operate an AED safely.

This class includes video presentation and monitored hands-on training.

Many Cooper Institute courses require basic CPR to receive a certificate or certification. This Heartsaver AED class will fulfill that requirement. You don't have to be a Cooper student to attend Heartsaver AED - this class is open to the public.

Please come dressed in loose, comfortable clothing or workout attire (shorts, T-shirt, tennis shoes). You will be practicing skills that require working on your hands and knees, bending, standing, and lifting. If you have any physical conditions that might prevent these activities, please tell an instructor. The instructor may be able to adjust the equipment if you have back, knee, or hip problems. Also, please let an instructor know if you are allergic to latex. This course does not include a written examination however demonstration of skills with a Cooper Institute AHA Instructor is required. Students who demonstrate appropriate skill level receives an American Heart Association Heartsaver AED course completion card.
