Our Kids' Health
Our Kids’ Health is an initiative led by The Cooper Institute to improve children’s health by reducing childhood obesity. Overweight children and adolescents are at risk for health problems during their youth and as adults. For example, during their youth, overweight children and adolescents are more likely to have risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease (such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and Type 2 diabetes) than are other children and adolescents. Urgent attention and action is needed to keep our children from growing out of control.
March 9, 2009 Dr. Cooper announced the correlation data at the news conference using these charts. Also view the overview document of the results.
