Cooper Institute Advocacy Initiatives

The Cooper Institute® continues to lend its support of the PHIT Act, (Personal Health and Investment Today). The PHIT Act will give more individuals and families the opportunity to lead healthier lives. The PHIT Act expands the IRS definition of qualified medical expenses to include physical activity as a form of prevention, allowing consumers to use money in pre-tax medical accounts (HSAs, FSAs, etc.) to pay for physical activity expenses. Policy makers and public health organizations have worked closely with The Cooper Institute over the years to form public policy to strengthen physical education in public schools, work to eliminate the use of trans-fats in foods and build a healthy population based on science and research.

As The Cooper Institute engages in advocacy initiatives across the country in an effort to continue the work and mission envisioned by Dr. Kenneth Cooper, the Institute welcomes our volunteers and supporters to join our cause.

Please sign up as a member of our grassroots network and lend us your expertise, passion and voice as we work to build a healthier generation, now and Well. Into the Future.
